When users are looking for something, they type in a word or phrase that they believe is likely to lead them to the best results.

Google Keyword Tool is a free tool from Google which gives ideas about new keywords. It takes a keyword, phrase or a URL of a web page and gives out a list of related possible keywords.

Enter one keyword or phrase per line to see what related word searches your ad will show on.

Google Keyword Tool, if used correctly, shows you what keywords you should use based on traffic and subject relevance.
The top section, labeled "Find Keywords" is where you'll input the keywords you'd like to research.

However, before you start please you need to know about keyword matching options.

With  Google Keyword Tool you can set each search-targeted keyword to have one of those four settings. To use a keyword matching option, just add the appropriate punctuation to your keyword:

   1. Broad match: keyword
Allows your ad to show on similar phrases and relevant variations
(The broad match modifier may also be used to further refine your broad keyword matches: +keyword.)

   2. Phrase match: "keyword"
Allows your ad to be displayed for searches that match the exact phrase

   3. Exact match: [keyword]
Allows your ad to be displayed for searches that match the exact phrase exclusively

   4. Negative match: -keyword
Ensures that your ad doesn't show for any search that includes that term

With some options, you'll enjoy more ad impressions, clicks and conversions; with others, you'll get fewer impressions and more narrow targeting. By applying the appropriate matching options to your keywords, you can best meet your ROI goals.
